About Our Company
Thrush Sanitation is a quality business who offers quick response to anyone’s needs no matter what they may be. Garbage removal, portable restrooms, septic pumping, and many other entities are as quick as a phone call away.
After 65 years of service in the Ottawa area, Thrush Sanitation Services Inc. continues to provide quality service that only a hometown business can deliver. The Thrushes began operations in 1945 when Bob Thrush’s grandfather, Frank Thrush, started it as a septic tank cleaning business. In 1961, Thrush expanded its services and introduced a line of homemade portable restrooms for construction customers. The portable restroom inventory has since grown from 10 to over 1000.
The company continued to grow into the late 1990’s, when Thrush began offering roll-off dumpsters for construction debris and clean-ups. These containers range from a 20 to 40 yard capacity. Businesses in need of trash containers also can take advantage of Thrush’s commercial service. The containers range from a 2 to 10 yard capacity. Two new items in their rental inventory were introduced in 1995, (mobile office trailers and on-site storage containers). In 2008, Thrush sanitation became affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 722.
In January of 2004, Thrush began offering curbside pick-up to residents in the Ottawa area, and owner Bob Thrush said there’s been a tremendous response in the last year. Because Thrush Sanitation is locally owned and operated, customers in the residential and commercial communities can expect a quick response to their needs. “When you call us, a human being will answer the phone” said Bob, who owns and operates the business with his wife Pam. Their children, Nick, Kimberly, and Bobby Thrush are the General Managers. Thrush Sanitation utilizes late-model, dependable equipment and offers competitive prices, striving to remain the lowest in the area. Customers such as the elderly or disabled, can also request back door pick-up in the event that they cannot transport their trash to the curb themselves.
Thrush Sanitation is a truly hometown business. All of their employees live in the area. Also, all of the company’s business, including the purchase of fuel and clothes, is done locally.
